OlympusXi360 - Brighton Photo Walk

Last week, I was lucky enough to get the chance to spend the day with Olympus, their ambassador Martina (@YesZebra on Insta) and twenty-nine other photography lovers, snapping away in beautiful Brighton. We got to use new Olympus equipment and I learnt so much from the team of experts who were there to answer any question no matter what level of knowledge you had.

All photos below were taken on an Olympus PEN E-PL7 with a 12-40mm lens (which yes, is a little big for the camera but I am so in love with it!)

We started with Street Photography in the Laines, with Olympus Ambassador, Martina sharing her expert knowledge in shooting urban areas and finding beauty in whatever you feel like taking photos of - from bunting and flowers to staircases and rusty railings. I clearly took a liking to photographing both...!

The next part of the day was spent on the seafront experimenting with long exposure. The wind on the waters edge was intense to say the least, I've never seen waves like it in Brighton before, so for that reason, Long Exposure photos weren't for me at that moment in time. It made the sea look beautiful, calm and peaceful, but I wanted to capture the rapid pace and crashing waves. I played around with a few settings on the camera too and took the opportunity to edit more than I usually would - with high contrast, black and white, structure and grainy textures.

For the final part of the day, we had a private flight on the i360.
I lived in Brighton the entire time it was being built, so it was great to finally get up and see what the fuss was about. There's a great view and on a completely clear day I'd imagine you can see for miles. It goes quite quickly so make sure you've taken it all in before it starts descending.. you're back the ground before you know it!

All the photos blower were taken on the Olympus PEN E-PL7 with the kit 14-42mm lens and a fish eye lens.

Thank you so much to Olympus for an absolutely fantastic day. I learnt so much, met some great people and I'm not so afraid of the Manual setting on my camera anymore...!

Summer Book Picks

There's nothing quite like getting stuck into a good book. One that sets your imagination wild and traps you in its world. Last year I really got into reading and I made it my mission to find the time to read as I found a lot of harmony in doing so. I read to relax, I read before bed and I read to switch off.

I thought I'd put together some of my favourite reads so far and the books I've picked to read this Summer to share with you!

I'd love some recommendations! What are your favourite books?

Golden Hour in Orange Square

Our last night in Marbella was spent exploring the beautiful Old Town, wandering cobbled streets, sipping rosé and eating gelato in Orange Square and taking in the most breathtaking views of the Santiago Chapel.

Sun-kissed with my soul sister, we had the most wonderful last night and spent a moment capturing the beautiful light during golden hour. These are some of my favourite photos I've ever featured in a blog post, so a huge thank you to Charlie for capturing them with me. I'm not going to ramble on (for once!) and I'll let the photos do the talking. If you're heading to Marbella for your holiday, I'd absolutely recommend a trip to Orange Square.
