Burgers & Cocktails {brighton}

You know that feeling when you're best friends/housemate is leaving Brighton for good, so all you want to do is get drunk and eat burgers? Yeah, that.

My dearest housemate, partner in crime, best friend and future WWE tag-team partner (that may be unrealistic goal) is returning home after one year in Brighton to start a different university course at another uni. I'm gonna miss the girl like crazy so we decided to spend out last night doing what we do best, drinking and eating and then drinking some more.

After testing out some cocktails during Happy Hour (5-7pm!) a few weeks back, we thought we'd test out Burgers & Cocktails in Brighton again. It's part of the Giraffe chain so I was eager to try it out.
Passionfruit Mojito for me and a Laid Back Jack for Fran. The best passionfruit mojito I've ever had!

Funky and fun decor with live music events too, this place is great to take friends for food and drinks. I'll be taking the Mr there for a date at some point! The waiting staff were great too, we had a waiter and a waitress, I didn't catch their names but they were absolutely lovely - up for a laugh and super attentive!

Happy Hour was nearly ending, so we may have ordered in a few drinks to keep us going. The cocktails are incredible, there is something for everyone. Fruity, sour, sweet, creamy, frozen, all sorts! Even one they set on fire, make incredible sparks fly then get you to blow out the fire and drink the shot (That's the Flaming Mon, a favourite!) Happy Hour makes them half price so for around £3.50 each, you seriously can't go wrong!
Food arrived and oh boy, It was great. I had a Bacon and Cheeseburger. Juicy beef burger, crunchy lettuce, crispy bacon, molten cheese and special sauce and of course, extra pickles, all in a brioche bun, which makes it taste even better! Fran went for the Falafel & Halloumi Burger which she said was also absolutely delicious and full of flavour. It was tough to pick from the yummy sides, but we went for sweet potato fries which were super, super tasty.

 So If you're planning a trip to Brighton and you're looking for a great place to grab a bite to eat or have some fruity cocktails, I'd definitely recommend Burgers & Cocktails!

The Western Front {brighton}

A new favourite little spot of mine for the tastiest lunch, at a very affordable price! If you live in Brighton, or have even visited Brighton before, you will no doubt have walked past this place millions of times!

Located right next to Churchill Square, The Western Front is the perfect spot for a mid-shopping lunch and post shopping nibbles and drinks!

Sun beating down on a hot Friday afternoon, Fran & I needed refreshing ciders and delicious food. Old Mout Cider (Passionfruit and Apple in particular) is my favourite cider, I'd recommend it if you haven't already tried it!

We bother ordered 'The Eastern' sandwiches. Grilled halloumi, roasted red peppers and pesto in ciabatta served with a small side salad, tossed in the most delicious dressing. Seriously, it's a dressing from the gods, I want the recipe! All this only £6.45 and for £2 more you can get some of the best hand cut chips you'll ever eat too. Definitely get them over the skinny fries, I'd take a trip there just to munch away on them!

I've visited multiple times now, but I haven't tried anything else on the menu as this is so yummy! So if you live in Brighton and have always walked past, or you're visiting over Summer, pop in for some food!

What's In My Clutch Bag?

On a night out on the town you want to have all the essentials, but to be carrying as little as possible, right? I thought I'd give a run down of what I take on a night out with me if I'm taking a clutch bag!

I'll start with the bag itself. I recently purchased it from Primark and it's fair to say I'm in love with it! At an incredible £6, you can't really go wrong. It's got two zipped sections, gold hardware and is in a matte grey crocodile print. The perfect chic addition to any outfit.

Tried out a stop motion video for the first time to go with this post. A little mid-week video for you, it's only one minute, have a watch!

Phone.
 For photos, drunk videos, taxi numbers, finding a lost friends and for realising it's 4am and time to go home... your phone will be a necessity.

Money, ID, Student Card. I've only photographed the money for obvious reasons but money and your ID are essential if you want to get in anywhere! I take my student card out as there can be offers for students, so I take it just in case. As my day to day purse is a bit too bulky, I take out the pink lips purse to keep my money in one place.

House Keys. Obvious one if you want to be getting into your house at the end of the night!

Lip Gloss/Lip Stick. This is the only makeup I'll take with me on a night out as I never end up retouching it, even if I do have any on me! I'll just take the lip product I've got on that night so I can re-apply throughout the night.

Hair Bands & Grips. At some point I'll probably get fed up with my hair and either want to grip some bits back or put it in a pineapple... normally on the walk home. I don't always use them, but helpful to have incase myself or a friend is in need!

Plasters. New heels, ouch. Need I say anymore?

Mints/Gum. Although they're not pictured I like to take some to keep my breath fresh throughout the night!

What are your essentials on a night out?

Blogging When You're Busy...

I've just finished my second year at university and one thing I realised this term was how tricky it was to keep juggling all the different things I want to do in life. Something had to be put on the back burner and in this case it was my blog. I didn't neglect it, but if I had to be writing an essay on market research, I couldn't be writing a blog post about my new shoes. I also had to put going to the gym on the back burner as I just felt guilty if I wasn't at home writing essays and revising. I've put together a few tips on keeping on top of things when you're busy.

- Top Tips -

Don't push yourself.
If you have to get an essay done, revise for an exam or write up a report for work then make time for it and if you have to put other things on hold, that is okay. Your health is the most important things, a blog post can wait. Make the time to get the things you really need to get done, done and then if you're too tired to do the extra things, don't push yourself to do them.

Do what works for you.
If you friend can spend all day working and you have to have breaks, that's fine. Everybody works differently so don't compare yourself to others, just do what works for you. If your break means taking an hour out to shoot some photos and write a post then do it, if it means going out for some fresh air and taking time out, that do that.

Schedule. Schedule. Schedule.
If you do set some time aside to write up some blog posts, write a few if you can, then schedule them to go up throughout that week. This way your blog won't fall behind but you don't have to keep thinking about it. You can even schedule tweets about your posts too, with apps such as TweetDeck.

Don't stress.
We are all human and understand people have busy lives, your readers won't mind if you don't have the time to write new posts when you have deadlines or are very busy at work/ You blog because you love it, don't make it something that worries you.
