Halloween Treats!

We're going all out this Halloween! Myself and my friends are all super excited so have lots of plans!

Friday night, we're dressing up, getting drunk and heading out.

Obviously I needed some spooky beverages to get me through the evening.

'Pina Ghoulada' (geddit?!) being my drink of choice!

50ml Pineapple Juice
1 tablespoon Coconut Cream (Surprising hard to find... will see if coconut milk works!)
50ml Rum (I couldn't find the one I wanted in time to take these photos... so just pretend it's there!)
1 tablespoon Sugar
Ice
Pineapple Slice (Decoration - Optional)

Shake it all up and you're ready to go!

I've also made Jelly Shots for everyone to enjoy.

These are simple, just jelly, vodka and water.

I'll leave you to work out the measurements of each thing... it took Fran & I a while..

----

On the saturday night to soothe our poor hungover heads, we're having a big scary movie night!

Films, friends, takeaways and lots of snacks. Can't really ask for much more!

I spotted some wonderful looking 'Triple Halloween Chocolate Apples' on Cider With Rosie and I am so excited to give them a go!

I'll also be making these funky 'Spooky Boo Brownies' that I spotted on the Betty Crocker website!

I'm being naughty and using a box mix... but I'm a student, so it's allowed.

Whip up a batch of brownies, place the marshmallows on top! I'm melting some white chocolate over the top too!

Sweetie Skewers to stick in one of the pumpkins for great decoration and food!

We bought a few decorations for the flat too. We thought we may as well go all out and make the most of this spooky weekend!

Pumpkins are carved and ready to be displayed in all their glory with tea-lights in!

Check out my spooky pumpkin carving video below!

What are you plans? Whatever they are, have a good Halloween!

o u t f i t {halloween edition #2}

I'm still so excited for Halloween so I thought I'd put another outfit post together!

See my first one here!

w e d n e s d a y a d d a m s

I love The Addams Family films, so I love this one as an option. Another really simple one and won't take to much time or effort!

n o m o r e m i n n i e

Minnie Mouse is one of my favourite characters, but she's not exactly scary! You may hate the idea, but 'No More Minnie' is the perfect twist for Halloween. Lots of fake blood needed for this one, create your perfect minnie look... then slaughter it! Make sure you don't use clothes you don't want to ruin though, fake blood can stain!
s k e l l i e
Another classic option, but the thrown in skeleton accessories will make this one! Go all out there on face paint too. I love this one on Nouvelle Daily, you could go half face, or full, both would look great!

I thought I'd give it a go myself, and I actually loved the outcome!

I think I'm going for a Vampire look (this one) and will hopefully get a video or blog post up of my outfit!
I'm off to carve pumpkins and hang decorations!

Little Loves: Autumn

Autumn is quite possibly my favourite season.

This morning I woke up a felt a proper Autumn chill in the air.

Crunchy burnt orange, faded brown and rusty red leaves scattering the pavements and grass.
Hot chocolates, the works of course
Knitted scarfs, jumpers, dresses, cardigans, hats... knitted everything!
Getting all dressed up with your friends for Halloween
Hot drinks, burgers and sparklers on fireworks night
A new winter wardrobe
Candles, everywhere. Filling the room with wonderful smells
Pumpkins, Toffee Apples and Marshmallows
Carving Pumpkins
Cuddles on rainy days in
Long, cold, crisp walks
Salted caramel everything
Collecting conkers
Just simply being cosy.

What do you love about Autumn?

o u t f i t {halloween edition}

It's nearly halloween!

Time for those tricky questions... Who do I go as? What do I wear? Do I go for scary? Do I go for sexy? Do I go for cute?

I thought I'd put together a few outfits on 'Polyvore' of some 'classic' halloween looks in a slightly more stylised and sophisticated way.

A sexy, yet sophisticated take on a  Vampire look. The splashes of blood red will tie this look together. Tanya Burr's lipgloss in 'Vampire Kiss' is perfect for a vampy pout and the red contacts will freak people out all night long.

A round, shiny, bright orange pumpkin outfit isn't the most attractive of outfits to wear for halloween. This look will be made by your make up, freak people out with dark black eye makeup and black lips. Go bold and be brave with that, it's halloween!

An LBD, cat ears and some draw on whiskers and you're pretty much there with this look. (Take a look at Niomi Smarts fab tutorial for that!) The extras are just there to make it more exciting, but this look an be achieved with things you probably already have stored in your wardrobe and make up draws. Not scary, but very cute.

We've all seen Liz Hurely in Bedazzeled (If not, google it now... Seen it? Get what I'm on about? Good.) We don't want to paint our faces red and prance about in red tights all night so this is a great alternative. You'll feel fab in the red dress and heels but still have the 'devil' touches. Like the cat outfit, it's quite a simple one, but this is the sexier option!

I get it if you don't want to be wearing a glittery, itch black dress from the fancy dress shop. This little number is a stylish solution. Wearing a deep purple, with black accessories throughout adds a nice touch of colour to the outfit and makes it a bit more fancy than just black.

So you won't look terrifying in any of these outfits, but you will feel fab and still look cool whilst sticking to the 'rules' of halloween, as it were.

Head on over to my Polyvore here

Bake, Bake, Bake!

Recently I've been in the mood to bake! These are a few of the baking beauties that are on the top of my list!

These were the last thing I made from 'Cider With Rosie'. Honey Roasted Nuts. How good do they look?!

One of my favourite blogs. Rosie's photographs alone make this post good enough to try out but the ideas themselves sounds fabulous too! Maple & Pecan Porridge is the one I'll try out first (If I can stop myself from just making them all at once...) Perfect for frosty autumnal mornings. Im off to drool over the photographs again!

Perfectly apt a few weeks before Halloween! I've never made it before, but its something I've always wanted to try. Jamie's recipes are my favourites, so I know it'll be a gooden.

Another one of my favourite blog, with stunning photography. Also by a blogger called Rosie (must be a name thing, ey?) Anything 'triple chocolate' is already sold to me!

Jamie's back... I snooped on his website and bookmarked the majority of it. Banoffee is one of my favourite flavour combinations and seems a little easier than making the

A different take on a classic. I love a good apple pie in the winter months, so I thought I'd try out a new idea!

What's next up on your baking list?

That 'Feel Good' Feeling!

Every single one of us have those days where were just in that mood.

We don't know why. We don't want to be asked why. Sometimes we even want to sit and be grumpy for a bit. But there does come a time where we want to be out of that mood very quickly.

But sometimes we do know why we feel like that, we just want to take out mind off of things.

Here are my Top 10 Tips to get back that feel good feeling!

1. Grab a hot chocolate, whipped cream and marshmallows and have a F.R.I.E.N.D.S marathon. Laughter is the best medicine!

2. Crawl into a freshly made bed. Relax in the fluffy pillows and marshmallow-y duvet.

3. Have a cup of tea in your favourite mug.

4. Put your favourite song on, dance around your room in your favourite dress and heels. Feel like a goddess whilst pretending to be Taylor Swift.

5. Ring up your best friend, boy/girlfriend or family member for a catch up. Catch up on new things and talk about old funny stories!

6. Paint your nails in your favourite shade (I went for black here, how cheery of me haha!) Take a lot of time over it, a proper manicure from the comfort of your own home.

7. Take a walk. Get some fresh air! I like to take my camera with me, I can just snap snap snap away!

8. Do some yoga.

9. Go through some old photo, reminisce over funny memories. Don't go over board on this one, too much could make you feel a little nostalgic or down!

10. Smile! (and pose like us two crazy cats above...!) Did you know smiling boosts your mood, boosts your immune system and relieves stress? Smiling is also contagious, so smile away!

I hope you feel a little bit better soon, we all have those days.

Love and hugs if you're in that rubbish mood!

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

Smiles all round this week, here's what's been putting a smile on my face!

My new happy desk space. More on that coming soon...

1. Student Lock-in at Church Hill Square. Super busy and hectic but I got some serious bargains and there's a haul coming!

2. Chunky knits and scarves that swallow you up!

3. GU hot chocolate. Rich, creamy but not too sickly sweet.

4. Autumnal weather. But I only like the rain when I'm all cosy in my room..

5. Walking into my first lecture back at uni & my lecturer is playing 'Happy Little Pill' - Troye Sivan.

6. Gossip Girl marathons with my housemates. I found out they'd never watched it before, so we're starting at the beginning. They don't know what they're in for!

7. Having pretty white flowers on my desk. It's so nice to have a bit of life in the room.

8.  Catching up on a gajillion (yes, that's a word...) A Beautiful Mess blog posts. My 'Make/Do/ bookmarks tab is now exploding with new ideas!

9. Waking up with the perfect messy bun. Didn't even touch it before I left for my lecture. Some might say that's grim, but they are the people who have never attempted a messy bun before...

10. Chicken teriyaki, quinoa & peas for dinner. SO GOOD.

What's made you happy this week?

o u t f i t {one}

I've recently discovered the App 'Polyvore'. Perfect for procrastinating (which is mainly when I use it...) and perfect for picking the best outfits out!

It's fast becoming a new favourite of mine! But it's dangerous for the bank balance, with links to where everything can be purchased...

These are a few of the looks I've created whilst not working, not sleeping or maybe not listening... ooops!

Sunset Snapshots

Sitting on my balcony I noticed a vibrant orange glow on the houses opposite.

Nothing is better than the sunset in Brighton!

I grabbed my camera and headed straight down to the sea front for some photo taking and quiet time.

I took photos of every moment of the sunset, listened to the crashing waves, watched the sun glitter on the sea and just took the time out to think.

We all get so caught up in city lives, the hustle and bustle of every day life sometimes we need a moment out to just think.

Or not think. Time to just do... nothing.

Go and try it some time, it is very therapeutic.
